unzipped
Recently I have been watching far too many netflix streaming movies and documentaries, among the many films i've watched lately was Unzipped, a documentary that follows the designer Isaac Mizrahi as he plans his fall 1994 collection. It was so interesting and entertaining, great music too. I loved that it was filmed mainly in black and white: switching from bright grainy color to black and white, it was cool. The film started with Mizrahi reading a horrible review in *Womens Wear Daily* of his most recent collection, and then we watch as Mizrahi starts his creative and stressful process for the fall collection. Not only did the film give a glimpse behind the scenes of fashion, but it really showed Isaac at the peak of his career. Totally 'time-capsuled' the feeling of early 90's fashion. My favorite part of the documentary was the fittings and the several scenes featuring the supermodels: Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. Definitely watch this if you have netflix.

Organic by John Patrick Fall 2013
Organic by John Patrick ready to wear fall 2013 collection is such a nice balance of nonchalance and refinement. I am so in love with the pencil skirts - which shows just the perfect amount of skin, it's so good. The knits and the fuzzy coats and jackets, i love the slouchy-ness off the shoulder. The color palette in every collection i have seen of his is so fresh and the use neutrals is brilliant, i really love how the shades of neurtal colors are paired together, but my favorite part is the shocking bright pinks at the end of this collection! The clothes are simple, functional and thoughtful…i would kill for these items.

Creatures of Comfort Fall 2013 RTW
I really like this collection by Creatures of Comfort. The collection was said to be inspired by the late Louise Bourgeois. The cage-like grid patterns on boxy coats and shifts, was to give a sense of entrapment. I like the shapes in the collection, there is a nice variety of textures and layering. I personally gravitate towards these types of silhouettes, i like the simplicity of it all. The oversized knit cap is so cute! - it reminded me of Bourgeois in this photo!
