Delpozo | Fall Winter 2014

This collection by Delpozo is soo refreshing! For Fall 2014 the Spanish brand's creative director, Josep Font's brilliant use of color really caught my eye. These are some of my favorite looks from the collection. The neon colors paired with the pastels and neutrals is so unexpected but works in such a beautiful way! What I love most is the new modern spin on Victorian Romanticism. The collection was said to be based on the "retro-futuristic esthetic" inspired by the novel "Logan's Run" and Italian artist Duilio BarnabĂ©.

r e - i m a g i n e

All photographs by fashion photographer Ismael Moumin  And drawing by me. I love the crisp, minimal and high definition-glossy feel of the photos. I definitely get a lot of my inspiration for my drawings from fashion photographers. like Moumin. I've been playing around with photoshop. Re imagining my own art with a digital influence.

AVA CATHERSIDE

AVA CATHERSIDE is a new London based designer with such a unique and cool aesthetic. I just recently discovered the label. The extreme minimalism, monochrome palette, and raw/edgy shapes - it's so interesting. I love the last photo, with the negative space of the neck disconnected from the form of the body. Such a subtle way of approaching minimalism.  Check out this video  showing individual garments being hand cut.

J.W ANDERSON | AW 2014 MENS

There's no doubt J.W Anderson is (one of) my favorite designers, if not my favorite designer. There are far too many things that I love about this collection, but what I love most is how the idea of menswear is challenged and the way that Anderson challenges  proportions… Which he never fails at doing, each collection is totally amazing and original. The juxtaposition of clean stark lines, asymmetry, and softer subtle colors, like the pale blue, baby pink and light neutrals is so good. I love how the colors are offsetted by such tremendously bold cuts. Cheers to this amazingness …

Steven Tai

UK based designer, Steven Tai's work is so amazing. This is from his Spring/ Summer 2013 collection. Love the awkward-looking models. The chic nerdy-ness works perfectly. Totally obssessed right now. His website design is amazing too.

Vertigo | s/s 14 | Mint Designs

Mint Designs is one of my favorites, I posted about their "fashion surgery" collection a while back. The thing I love most about Mint Designs is for the use of self created woven fabrics and the prints are just amazing! I love Japanese fashion, but unlike Comme des Garçons (which I LOVE)… however, I really appreciate that the pieces from Mint Designs are light and have a fluid feel to them, with the bright colors and cheerful prints. There is also a futuristic feeling to all their collections, so innovative and modern.
As much as I love this collection I prefer their last collection . Although I usually prefer most designers a/w collections over spring.

All photos from my tumblr or my pinterest. Here is some inspiration from photos i've been collecting recently on those sites. The shoes are found here, I really want to find a good pair of cut out shoes and I also really love that Bottega Veneta asymmetrical cape on the bottom left!

Organic by John Patrick spring 2014

Organic by John Patrick is one of my favorites,  I love each collection he has done, the colors are always beautiful, the pieces are so effortless and wearable. This collection had such a nice mood, very romantic without being over the top, at all. I really love the mix of different hues of colors, dark plum with lavender, mint and baby blue, gold and ivory and various shades of whites and cream paired together. The use of color is one of the reasons that I really like John Patrick. Also I loved the voluminous trousers and skirts, they had a nostalgic vintage feeling to them yet still so modern and cool.

i'll try to post some more highlights of NYFW, since my 1st quarter at FIDM is ending next week. I have a few weeks off, so i'll have some time! So far I love it a lot here in Los Angeles, but i've been missing New York especially lately with fashion week happening and Autumn just around the corner!
